How East Ridge Independent Living Residents Are Celebrating the Holidays
East Ridge Residence continues to promote secure gatherings full of exciting socialization as it enters the new year.
Why are socially-distanced special events and activities important for seniors?
East Ridge Residence has encouraged its seniors to have fun while following COVID-19 safety protocols to help them make new friends and avoid loneliness during an otherwise difficult time. We also encourage their mental growth through crafts and problem-solving exercises.
Learn about Our Favorite Brain-Building Games
Every evening, a group of thoughtful residents work together to retain their reading, writing, and problem-solving skills by completing a crossword puzzle. They all enjoy finding solutions to a variety of questions!
In addition to this solitary activity, BINGO can improve cognitive skills by helping our residents think quickly and maintain their concentration. Most importantly, they play the game to have fun!
In mid-December, Casey from Amedysis Home Health led a BINGO game and provided wonderful prizes. To celebrate all December birthdays, she also brought a cake for everyone to enjoy.
Our residents were also shown appreciation through Christmas-themed boards handcrafted by Janet, an associate at East Ridge Residence. She had embellished the boards with construction paper, accent gems, a decorative card, and acrylic paint.
Helen is among our many residents and associates who enjoy celebrating Christmas in style. She recently received a beautiful mask that will also help her stay safe!
East Ridge independent living has been committed to helping seniors enjoy their retirement throughout the pandemic. We will continue to find new ways to offer them unique and fulfilling experiences as the new year approaches.
